Create your likeness in me

This is my prayer, this is my cry
knowing myself, my failings
the sin that separates me
from my Father, from God
even as I know I am his
and my obligation
my debt to my Maker
Create in me a clean heart
a new life, a new vision,
your purpose not my own
Create your likeness in me
an empty vessel, a bit of clay
made worthy, holy, only
by your hand alone Lord
Change me, restore me
transform me by your grace
for I am weak, timid,
I am nothing without your Spirit
lifting me from the dust
giving me wings, to fly,
to serve, to share your message
always, forever, your voice;
May your words pour from my mouth
