The struggle, the tug-of-war
our bodies, our souls
the battle yet raging
a swirl of emotion
a mixture of feelings
how to define man
our essential nature
Are we material beings
formed of the dust
or are we spiritual
reborn from above
sent into the world
to share God’s love
led by the Spirit
God within, alive
baptized, reborn
that we may live
