Remorse sits in my place – v2

Conscience speaking to us,
wisdom we had run from,
thinking we could go our own way
that there was no consequence
Conscience speaking,
in mournful tones,
in our cry, our request to return;
“Remorse sits in my place”,
because you fail to believe
to listen when I called
straying, wandering
not listening to God at all
