the scalpel, precision
the light of God’s word
a mirror, reflection
of what is found inside
cutting into flesh
our lives revealed
our righteous judge,
Jesus
knowing how we feel
cutting into flesh
exposed, wide open
may the surgeon heal us
bring us back to life
