Behind Your Closed Door – v3

In the silence of your room
in time set apart, in your closet
wrapped in prayer, in ashes,
behind your closed door
that is the place to start

Falling to our knees
lifting our prayers up
wearing our worship
emptying ourselves out
that God may fill us

Knowing He hears us
and answers our petitions
God is there with us
if we would but listen
to His voice speaking to us

“Michelle and I join with millions of Christians
here and across the world to mark Ash Wednesday.
As we observe the season of Lent, we receive
with thanksgiving this opportunity for grace and repentance,
recommit ourselves to our faith, and
remember our obligations to one another.”
