Plans to fill us
to give us life
living water ready
to quench our thirst
The plans of the Father
written in love
the way of the servant
the Spirit abiding
yet wayward children
attempting to take control
denying the water
the gifts of God
thirsty but turning
to the works of their hands
cisterns broken,
not holding real water
lost, rebellious
out in the world
needing to turn
to remember the Father
the plans for them
the source of living water

They have forsaken me,
the spring of living water,
and have dug their own cisterns,
broken cisterns that cannot hold water.” (NIV)
