bittersweet the smell
the palms burning
our joys, our shouts
becoming flames, ashes
consumed in an instant
our faithfulness tested
Jesus the Christ
the Messiah with us
yet pawns in the drama
the bittersweet smell
Immanuel, God,
descended to Hell
