The book, the story opened
revealed in a blaze, an
instant
in fire on that morning
in words impossible
languages unknown
(to those who were speaking)
made accessible, reachable
in native tongues, in words
understood
by the believers gathered
those faithful in Jerusalem
the words of scripture
come alive before them
the power of Pentecost
meeting each where they were
spreading God’s love, His
truth
His message of
reconciliation
the disciples commissioned
empowered, emboldened
evangelists now, fishermen
speaking
in each one’s native tongue

Call to Worship: Psalm 104:31-33 (NIV)
Unison Prayer,
“Almighty God, Giver of knowledge and might, we come
before your throne to worship You in Spirit and truth. We
pray that your Spirit of illumination would fall upon us
gathered here today so that we may hear your still small
voice, guiding us as we sojourn through this world. May
we
feel Your presence with us here today. Come Spirit, fill
our
hearts this day. Amen”
