the weight of my log – v2

I long for a day
when I may confess,
that I stop short when
I am too sure of myself
My voice fettered
humbled in part
My tongue hesitant
to speak too far,
too much, too much

remembering the log
heavy, uncomfortable
the log in my eye
the weight of that log
reminding me, (I hope)
that the log in my eye
is larger, larger by far
than the speck (I think I see)
in my neighbor’s eye

how can I even be sure
that the speck is there
My vision obstructed
by the log which I know is there
the log so familiar,
familiar pain, heavy,
the log ever present;
How can I judge them
while the log is in there
