the story somewhat different
the man cured
the illness, his blindness
in this Christ revealed
most of our lives different
our prayers for healing
to be cured a bonus

what we receive more blessed
not cured of our illness fully
our maladies remaining
we carry our scars
of our own rebellion
but we are made whole
healed by the hand of God

our chronic illnesses with us
the memory of our past
our wilderness places
but we are healed
touching our very soul
we are made whole
by the loving hand of God.
