Before they released, parted
Jacob holding on for life,
so that he would not be
killed
holding on for a blessing
Somehow he knew;
He was wrestling with God
with his fate, his destiny
this younger twin,
ankle grabbing, usurping,
he strove with God
all through the night
in the desert, the
wilderness
At morning, holding on for a
blessing
a blessing from God
