Unrest in the Maghreb – v2

We delude ourselves
if we think we are an island
as if America
could stand isolated

We are mistaken
if we think we can bargain
if we can be biased
and not be found out

Unrest in the Maghreb
the winds spreading
change coming
like the blowing of sand

The world around
all on edge
the Middle East ablaze
when will there be rest

Ancient battles raging
Abraham’s sons fighting
no rest, no peace
the world in the conflict

The nations changing
in rapid, real-time
changing by election
and by revolution

Sudden movement
like sands on the wind,
justice to come;
Oh let it begin.
