waking the disciples – v6

Christ’s face contorted, ashen
a mask of pain frozen;
Christ’s sweat like blood
smeared upon His face

seeing our Master, Jesus
waking from our tired;
our bodies weak, now in shock,
at what had happened to Jesus

praying in the garden, Gethsemane,
our cup to His lips, our sin,
the sweat of blood flowing
foreshadowing His torture

the crown of thorns, the whip
Christ’s body broken for us
dying on the cross
to save humanity

Mark 7:21-23 (NIV)
Mark 7:20-23 (The Message)
‘He (Christ) went on: "It's what comes out of a person that pollutes:
obscenities, lusts, thefts, murders, adulteries, greed, depravity,
deceptive dealings, carousing, mean looks, slander, arrogance,
foolishness—all these are vomit from the heart.
There is the source of your pollution."’
