a prayer for all of us truly
for we all have known loss
but a prayer for those
who have lost a loved on
a new sense of a place
missing
empty chairs around the table
a hole in their hearts
a break in the circle
some dear loved one
not longer at the table
empty chairs for those
who have moved, who are
gone,
who have passed away
who have left the circle
some for a heavenly home
a room in the mansion
the banquet, the feast,
but an empty chair with us
now
a hole in our hearts
