as the sun rose over Jerusalem
led from the cell
where He had been held
brought before Pilate
to the seat of Roman power
Condemned by
the leaders
the Council, the Sanhedrin
but not yet a Roman crime
punishable by death.
charged with insurrection
claiming He was a King
a threat to Rome
that was their charge
The leaders of the people
bringing Jesus to Pilate
the lamb prepared for
slaughter
by pagan hands.
