denying the chisel – v8

We defy the Master
our marble still defiant,
denying the chisel, the touch
the work of the Sculptor;
We are clay rebelling,
leaving the wheel.

We refuse the Potter
His touch of love
the hand of teaching
trusting ourselves;
We deny the chisel,
not willing to yield.

We avoid the forge
the hammer, the anvil
refusing to bend, to change
to conform to the teaching;
We go our own way,
not submitting to God.
