The choices we are given
the paths out there
the bramble overflowing,
undergrowth abloom
but a hint of a path
one long abandoned
left to grow fallow
forgotten, up the bank
out into the wood.
Life that unknown journey
maybe a hidden rock wall
the untrod path before me
calling me to walk, to linger
to commune with God.
The untrod path into the wood
calling, beckoning me onward,
to move from my comfort
out into the unknown
to follow my calling
to trust in our God;
The whisper on the wind
a shiver at my back
yet a call echoing within me
to turn and not look back.
Venturing forth, yet uncertain
not knowing yet the way
needing the Spirit to guide me
each and every day.
