The forgotten way

the bramble overflowing,
undergrowth abloom;
but a hint of a path
one long abandoned
left to grow fallow
forgotten, up the bank
out into the wood.
life that unknown journey
maybe a hidden rock wall;
the forgotten way before me
calling me to come, to walk.

the forgotten way into the wood
calling, beckoning me onward
to move from my comfort
out into the unknown;
the whisper on the wind
a shiver at my back
yet a call echoing within me
to turn and not look back.
venturing forth, yet uncertain
not knowing yet the way;
needing the Spirit to guide me
each and every day.
