Seeds of Easter, planted,
joy dormant, waiting,
in winter, the darkness;
in the season, the journey
waiting to burst forth
a harvest surely to come.
So long before, in the time
of waiting,
in the words of the psalmist
the promise He will return;
like water in the desert
to bring the seeds dormant
springing to abundant life.
In the ashes, the soil, the
ground,
the seeds of Easter planted
in the dormancy of this
season;
like the bulbs of each
spring
waiting for the coming light
of morning
to spring forth in bold new
life.
