More than all that had gone before
that day on the mountaintop
Christ changed before our eyes
Hearing the voice of God
Told he was God’s own son
as we had hoped before
told to listen to his words
to follow his heavenly call
Coming down from the mountaintop
the fulfillment, his destiny
more urgent than before
nothing ever the same
