The words of Paul
declaring clearly
the choice of Christ
to descend, to become a man
Christ eternal
alive before time
“came into the world”
to say you and me
Taking off the mantle
the crown of his divinity
emptied of power
to humbly walk the earth
Came into the world
humbly, as a child
anointed in servanthood
to drink the cup of sorrow
Choosing to come
descended from above
to the cross he went
choosing to sacrifice
that we would live
