Wandering like the prodigal
needing to ponder the star
dependent on the cross of Christ
to lead us home to God
He has done the more costly part
going to the cross
freeing us from death and sin
bearing the awful price
Yet we are dependent
in our freedom to walk
needing to turn to him
to let him enter in
Dependent on the cross
not to the world
sharing in his ministry
leading us home to God
