The world closing in
gathered in silence
in the gathering shadows
we begin
The day of his dying
his sacrifice
all of us thinking
at the terrible cost
The Savior dying
to redeem us from death
going to the cross, the grave
to give us new life
The end doesn’t solve this
the pain that we feel
knowing our Savior died
to set us free
