How many of those people
would turn on Christ
how many who sang Hosanna
would shout
to send him to the cross
That same crowd
who hailed the coming Messiah
would turn to crucify
our God, Emmanuel
Not what they expected
the conquering redeemer
who would vanquish the Romans
setting the captives free
Something much deeper
the healing he offered
fulfilling all scripture
through the road to Calvary
