God gave Christ the choice
to do the right thing
to choose the simple path
or the way of the cross
We too make choices
which path to take
to go with the crowd
or to do the right thing
Christ modeled servanthood
submission to God
taking the difficult path
the way to the cross
We who would follow
must take up our cross
following his example
whatever the cost
Loving our neighbors
the least and the lost
offering them wholeness
through the gate of the cross
