Capernaum – v2

a working-class town

a common place

not a holy city, a capital,

the center, Jerusalem

there upon the sea

Galilee, the water,

tied to that place

where hands were callused

but hearts were open

fishing, the harvest,

grain, olive oil,

from there the

seed was planted

the ministry of Christ

life germinated

spread like a thunder

from Capernaum the center

the home of the disciples

this common place

kindling that fire
