sketching out his vision
in gifts of God’s love
shared across the heavens
not painting with tempura
with acrylic, with oils
the canvas more expansive
but not kept forever
the dome, the heavens
to understand God
his mystery, dominions
painting with particles
with light and motion
a tableau of wonder

sketching with his vision
in shimmering brilliance
upon the day, the night sky
