Like those first disciples
gathering, confused, afraid
seeing the risen Christ
feeling
the breath of God
the
flames of Pentecost
the
Spirit falling upon them,
bodily transformed
by the gift of Christ
a new life begun
in
their new reality
aware
of their mission
the
calling on their lives
So we entered in
into our time of reflection
of worship, calling us
closer to thee, oh God
open to the Holy Spirit
speaking from deep within us
calling us to Your ministry
in this church, in this time
our place in Your creation
to go, reborn, as they were
to do Your will and Your work
out in this troubled world
