Children’s message 03/08/2015
contemporaneous notes
3rd Sunday in Lent
“God's Love Letter; God is
writing your story”
-
Mystery Box – pencil
-
I want to start
by saying two things:
1.
God loves you there much
2.
He is writing your story
-
What do you do
for writing?
o poems – rhyme
o sonnets in English
-
How does writing make
you feel?
o get feelings out
-
Share writings with
friends
-
Some of the kids have
even written books
-
There is a love
letter written for everyone
o The Bible
o “Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth”
-
How might God
feel if we do something wrong?
-
How might God
feel if we do something good?
-
God is creative –
He is the Creator – God made creation
-
One of the kids
said
o “a 6-day party a while back”
o (misheard as “a 6-day party and then a nap”)
-
Well, God did nap
on the 7th day (that’s what we call the Sabbath)
-
God’s love
letter, the Bible, are instructions
o It was written for you
o It tells the story of how God sent His Son to die for
us, for our sin
-
God is also
writing the story, the journey of your life; it doesn’t end until God puts a
period on your story, when you are gathered home.
-
God is the author
of your life, writing something good.
-
God is writing
your story.
-
But, and this is
the best part, that is not the end. At the end of this life, we go to heaven
for a new life with Him, with God forever.
-
