the annual Passover remembrance
a feast journeying, retelling their story;
God’s provision, God’s protection,
God’s leading them to freedom.
journeying through the meal
the history of God’s people;
each step of the Haggadah
steeped with rich meaning.
the air dripping with tension
that night in the upper room;
the betrayer still with them
as they gathered for that meal.
journeying through the story,
but forever changed by Jesus;
the words of Jeremiah spoken
at the Passover table.
