Family
memories,
scraps
and treasures,
preserved
on shelves,
behind
panes of glass, or
frozen
there on the wall.
Most
without note, provenance,
those
will be lost with the passing of
the
matriarch, her memory,
of
the things, their deep meaning,
how
they matter to us.
Triggers
of stories, feelings,
smell,
touch, connectedness
the
living of our family
framed,
saved, treasured
these
living pieces of us.
