The Fire of the Spirit
the spark of life came.
The church was born
birthed, in fire,
in light.
The lamb, Christ became
the perfect sacrifice.
Unblemished, anointed,
a fragrant offering
that was pleasing to God.
Christ on the altar,
the fire of the cross.
Taking on our sin,
dying for us instead,
paying our price.
God, the Messiah,
drinking the cup of sacrifice.
Walking the way, obedient,
going down into the grave,
the place of the dead.
Rising to paradise,
on the other side,
from the pit of the tomb;
ascending to heaven
that we may walk with God again.
The Fire of the Spirit,
the spark of life.
The church was born
birthed, in fire,
in light.
