the sweetness of Sorrow – v3

their chants of “Hosanna!”
become the cries of “Crucify Him!”;
but the smoke sweet,
because of its purpose.

the sweetness of Sorrow
of the palms burning;
breathing in the smoke
of that Holy Week.

the shouts of “Crucify Him!” replaced
with the resounding chorus;
“Christ is alive;
my Savior lives!”

the sweetness of Sorrow
tasting the burning;
the sacrifice was complete
with the coming of Easter.
