The way it was asked
the oath question of Caiaphas
if He was the One
long prophesied
No room for error
for a misstatement
Christ had to answer.
Silence would have been a lie.
When He was asked,
“Are you the Messiah,
the Son of the Blessed One,
the One who was to come?”,
Christ had to answer
He could not remain silent.
Silence would have been a lie
denying His purpose.
