the cost of our sin
weighing on Jesus.
hanging on the cross
struggling just to breathe
naked, stripped
the Messiah humiliated.
for six hours
beyond His last sermon
the words of truth
that He shared with us.
hanging on the cross
the subject of derision
the weight too great
on the day that we killed Him.
