What do we say, how should we stand
must we bow, must kneel or
are we to hold our hands up;
Where should we be, out in creation
or in our prayer closet, alone,
spending time alone with God?
“Yes” maybe the best answer to the question,
“How do we pray?”;
Who should pray?”,
in the walk of our lives;
We should pray continually
as the Spirit leads.
Every word raised up a prayer
to the heart of God;
No magic formula
no perfect words only
but a model of prayer
shared by the Christ.
In these words of Jesus, a prayer,
a turning, in trust;
Each word pointing
to God’s presence with us;
Providing every word, each moment,
in our walk of life.
