the tempter whispered
to Adam, to Eve
in the garden, in Eden,
when they failed to
believe.
the tempter whispered
to Christ in the
wilderness
to turn from His path
that led to suffering, to
death.
the tempter whispered
to Jesus at Gethsemane,
another garden, a
different choice,
to choose submission, utterly.
the tempter whispered;
but Christ was stronger,
staying on the course, the
path,
that God had planned for
Him.
