the tempter whispered
to Adam, to Eve
in the garden, Eden
when they failed to believe
the tempter whispered
to Christ in the
wilderness
to turn from the path
that led to suffering, to
death
the tempter whispered
to Jesus at Gethsemane
another garden, a different
choice
to submit, perfectly
the tempter whispered
but Christ was stronger
staying on the course, the
path
God had for Him.
