they would all fall asleep
in Christ’s time of anguish,
His sorrow,
His grieving in the garden
that night
Jesus would drink from the
cup of suffering alone
arrested by the Temple
guards, with the betrayer, Judas
the Messiah, the Christ, was
convicted of blasphemy
by the priests, the
Sanhedrin, the righteous
the blind puppets of Rome in
the Temple courts
the disciples had run, they would
deny Him
asleep in Christ’s time of
anguish
in the garden, Gethsemane,
that night.
