all that remains of our joy

our “hosannas!” a memory

what they represent,

the palms consumed

the sorrow of the ashes

our hope, our joy, gone;

Christ in prison,

in the hands of Rome.

the trial before the righteous,

crucifixion at their hands;

where is the victory

the release of the captives

our hope, our joy, gone;

Christ was in prison,

in the hands of Rome;

Christ was in the tomb.
