Judas is a tragic figure
one of the twelve
but tempted with money
to betray a friend
Giving in to false idols
the allure of wealth
giving Jesus over
to be sent to the cross.
Judas is a tragic figure
failing to believe
a zealot caught between
nations
hanging himself from a
tree.
