the devil waiting
as he had in the desert
searching for weakness
human frailty,
in the wilderness,
the tempter in the garden
in Eden, at Gethsemane
seeking to defeat us
to lure the children
in innocents in the gardens
to choose to follow Satan
not staying faithful to God.
