on the Mount of Olives
in the Garden of Gethsemane
olive trees that were
one thousand years old
at the time, that night
when Jesus prayed in the garden
three thousand years old
now, in this time
ancient beings, living,
that watched that night
seeing Christ pray
taking up that cup
submitting his will
to the will of God.
