Something now expected
the town counting on us;
this congregation, this
people
to more than just show up
While we raise funds
for the work of the church;
smiles and conversations
with the confections we sell
A tithe in mission, giving,
giving back part of our
wealth;
beyond ourselves for service
our neighbors in need as
well
Lots of time and energy
coming together as one
people;
many hands making the work
lighter
smiles on their faces,
enjoying the labor’s fruit
Out in the world
part of this community;
offering a smile in Christ’s
name
at the end of the day’s
labor
reaping far more than we
give
