The Book of
Acts, their stories,
the Acts of
the Apostles
valuable
lessons for this age,
this time in
our lives;
these
uncertain, troubled times,
maybe
community can rise again
out of the
ashes of our disjointed,
our unconnected
lives.
All together,
one table, one meal
one prayer,
as one,
they lived,
worshipped, they ate together;
a single life
the lives of the apostles
out of their
wealth they gave,
out of their
need they were given
early
believers on the way
followers of
Christ.
Sharing all, around
one table,
to spread
Christ’s message
to bring
God’s love
out into the
world;
bringing
their lives together
one
community, one meal
In meals
shared, in sacrament, in community
seeing Christ
in our neighbors.
We share in
their legacy
we share the
table with them
all of them,
no charge
gathering
with us
one table,
one meal together
offering
Christ to them
those
different from us
the least, the
last and the lost.

changing the spelling from
“worshipped” to “worshiped”,
because Blogger and
Twitter said “worshipped” is a misspelling.
