Culling the faithful
setting up criteria,
by human measure
judging other people.
Forgetting divine grace
God’s redeeming love,
cleaving to the Law
as if that can restore us.
No longer under the Law,
under a new covenant,
the blood of the Lamb
healing us by faith.
Only to believe, to follow,
to be baptized in the waters,
guiding by the Spirit’s
calling
going out into the world.
Doing our part, our calling,
using our gifts, our talents
sharing our witness
God’s grace over the days
all the days of our lives.
