Someone pisses on our joy
on our zeal for worship;
Someone tried to quench
God’s fire within us.
We get mad, we get angry,
when this happens;
We want to join them
down in the muck and mire.
Don’t let them bait you
blow out the Spirit;
Come, return, now
to your first love, to Jesus.
The love of God is
beating within us;
Our hope forever
in love over all.
