Before they released, parted,
Jacob holding on for dear life,
so that he would not be
killed,
Holding on for a blessing.
Somehow he knew;
He was wrestling with God.
His fate, his destiny
this younger twin brother,
ankle grabbing, usurping;
He strove with God
all through the night
in the desert, the
wilderness.
At morning, holding on for a
blessing
a blessing from God.
