The Faith of Moses

Reaching down as he was commanded
bending down to lift the snake
many feet of the serpent
perhaps ready to strike

The faith of Moses in that moment
doing as God commanded
reaching down though he was fearful
trusting in the calling of God

We too are to believe
to have the faith of Moses
to trust when God calls us
that he will make us able

To speak, to serve, to do
to go to the ends of the earth
to make disciples in the name of Jesus
to do our master’s work
