What will become
of the focus on water
the hope offered
all over the globe
What will become
of the call for justice
the words shared together
all over the globe
When this day
fades into history
will we still pay attention
to all those who thirst
Will they wonder
what was the hoopla
what would we say
to all those who thirst
We must be vigilant
not losing our mettle
that the words of today
will transform the whole world
That water would flow
even in the desert
that wells would spring up
all over the globe
No one should die
for lack of water
no one should thirst
anywhere on this earth
Not in words today
but in our continuing actions
all of us together
can quench all of their thirst
